What does installing kitchen cabinets involve?
Installing cabinets means taking the old ones out, then setting the new ones level and fixed to the wall, with the doors and drawers lined up. The steps:
- Take out the old. The old cabinets and counter are removed and disposed of.
- Mark the room. The high point of the floor is found, a level line is marked around the walls, and the studs are marked.
- Set the cabinets. Each one is set from that line, shimmed where the floor or wall is out, and fixed to the studs.
- Join and hang. Neighbouring cabinets are joined, then the doors are hung and the drawers fitted.
- Adjust. Doors and drawers are adjusted until they line up.
Floors and walls are rarely flat or square, which is why cabinets are set from a level line and not from the floor.
What else can be part of a kitchen job?
A kitchen job can take more than cabinets. For example, it can include new white flat panel cabinets and a laminate countertop, a new kitchen sink and faucet, and a new fridge, stove and over-range microwave. Say what your kitchen needs when you call. The room can also take flooring and painting, and the whole job can be interior renovations.
Will you replace just a few cabinets, and how is it priced?
Yes. No job is too small. Every job is priced with you before work starts: small jobs at a set price, bigger jobs with a written quote. The quote is written line by line, each line with its own price, and HST (13%) is added at the end. See what a quote looks like.
Are you insured, and is the work guaranteed?
Yes to both. Reborn Renos is insured and covered by WSIB. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, as written in your contract. Reborn Renos is a new business, run by an owner with seven years in the trade. The common questions have the same answers.
Do you install cabinets in rentals and businesses too?
Yes. The same cabinet work is done for landlords and property managers, including between tenants, and for small businesses. See property turnovers and apartment and commercial renovations.
